Venus shining low in the western sky at night. It
is the brightest object except for the
moon. Venus is a
mystery planet. It is covered by thick clouds. The
clouds hide Venus' surface, so for a long time
nobody knew what Venus looked like. Some people
thought that Venus was a jungle with strange
animals and plants on the planet. But now we know
they are wrong! Venus is almost
the same size as Earth. It is dry, hot planets with
tall mountains and deep valleys. Venus is covered
in thick, yellow clouds. Strong winds blow the
clounds around. A year on Venus
is 225 Earth-days long. One day is 243 Earth-days
long.
