In December each student will be given a stuffed pueo (Hawaiian for owl) to send or give to friends or relatives. The pueos will be sent with journals and postcards for the recipients to write in and send back to us by the end of the year. We will mark their travels on maps when we receive Emails or postcards. The pueos have travelled to many of the fifty states and also went to many other countries such as Japan, Australia, England, France, Italy, Germany, and Singapore. As a result of our travel buddies we will learn a lot about geography and make new friends.
The picture below is of one of our previous pueos who went skiing. He is also wearing a bandage from another trip he took to the desert when he got pricked on a cactus.
